I made it to Cowes and back and it wasn't too bad after all, i hit one of the bigger boats outside Cowes beause the tide was very strong, should i tell anyone, there wasn't much damage.

and the log thing just says 00 , my Iphone said we were doing 6 knots so i guess i don't need the other one on the boat?

I wouldn't tell anyone. I hit a Bavaria 34 in Portsmouth Harbour recently and think I got away with it. You can always claim you saw a child in a Oppie cause the damage.

Slightly transgressing here .... where can I get one of the ships horns to put on my little boat? I should then be able to navigate safely through any racing fleet in the solent ...
And when there isn't any wind could I use it as additional propulsion? Hmm - thinking about this I could mount a second on the foredeck with motorised swivel and use it as a bow thruster?!

I'm well impressed with Mr Grant's technical skills, how does he get his Iphone to show knots? Do google maps have tidal data?

Thank you Jimi, the free app to make the iphone works as a log is v-cockpit tells you how much your leaning over how fast your going and how tall you are.
