That is not really a Nic 35 specific question as the wooden doghouse was not a standard item so probably added by an owner. If you post photos of the offending article and what the problems are you will likely get suggestions for how to deal with it.

I don't know about a doghouse but I posted about an old boy who's coachroof on his Nicholson has totally rotted and had let gallons of water in below the decks deeming him to I believe a fruitless task at his age to salvage .... Absolutely heartbreaking for the guy as his health is not that good , shame as previously mentioned it's got a fantastic complete Aries self steering mechanism and a two-three year old mast

You did not say it was a Nic in your other thread. Presumably an early 36 with a GRP hull and wooden deck. Very desirable in its day but now out of fashion. As I know from my own experience with my boat that is built in the same way, but sheathed, any repairs to the deck and coachroof are hugely time consuming and require lots of expensive materials. To give an idea, this repair started off with a bit of softness on the deck alongside the bowsprit. Then a bit of the toerail with the cleat broke away. As can be seen the whole deck forward of the first bulkhead was removed. We made a new solid breasthook from a mahogany plank I inherited from my father in law over 40 years ago that would have cost over £100 to buy today. Over a week's solid work to do the job.

Finding somebody who likes that type of boat and has the skills and patience to take on a rebuild is a challenge when you can buy an all GRP boat of similar type for pocket money (relatively!).

Thank you, it’s been removed, I thought it had been added, I will replace with canvas.

Luckily I haven’t got a wooden coach roof, yes heartbreaking for him.
