Well, some here know we had a bit of a saga with Sealine last year, and the boat has been with them through December and January (was only supposed to be there a fortnight)...

So she's back on the water, and when I rang to confirm it, they said they'd antifouled her at their expense, as she'd been out for longer than they expected, and had dried out a bit! What a nice surprise!

Obviously, it won't be very good antifoul. Probably some cheap plastic version, not like the proper expensive stuff Fairline use.

I was hoping to be out, but the family are still recovering from the nasty bug thats going around - so its not clear yet. I'll give you a call if we make it down Derek - a pint somewhere would be a grand idea.

We're down the weekend but not sure if we're out or not, loads of bits to do in Southampton.

On the Antifoul note, we had a similar situation where they had her out at Sealine Hamble, can't remember what for and as a gesture did the antifouling too. What I would say is that far from being inferior it was bloomin brilliant stuff and the guy who now does it for us each year, who was ex Sealine, reckons its as good if not better than others use. In fact he goes to great pains to acquire the same brand from somewhere and adds a bit of black to it so it matches the original as Sealine have it specially mixed in their own shade?? Blowed if I know who's make it is but we have been very happy with it, so far.

Be interested to see if the same is true on yours, I'll ask Giles what make it is. Paul

ps. Cracking Model !!

Did they antifoul the engines. When I had my new Sealine the commissioning package only included antifouling the hull and I was told antifouling the engines was not necessary....Of course I found out after couple of months that it was indeed necessary.

Well i am not so sure about the NICE sealine people.
SIBS ordered S28 delivery April 2005
November little dickie bird informs S28 being replaced by nice new 29. no details from Sealine agent but they confirmed probability. so i say wait till LIBS i will almost certainly change to 29.
LIBS.....WOW what a lovely boat. i will have one of those instead /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. another £16000 later but with only one engine now, i am told delivery still mid April. Goodie....goodie......roll on April. a nice new SC29 and all to my spec.
oops wait a minute i have problem with airdraught when i go to Ely, where i live and the SC has a hard top, so i cant get the arch hinged. perhaps i will have the S29 instead and hinge the arch /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
hello nice Sealine people "please confirm what the airdraught will be. in your nice glossy brochure it says APPROX 3.14 M." i need to know for sure, dont want to take the mast or arch off on first journey up the Ouse /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.
i asked at the boat show.
i sent an e-mail to the dealer on 19th January.
i checked they got my e-mail....you get problems with this electronic communication stuff.

i just phoned the nice people at Birchwood. very helpful. brochure in the post tonight. and they might help with the "exchange deal" offered by Sealine.

i know its new and they are still finishing some details but surely they know what air draught they will have without being approximate.

anyone else having problems?

OK, we're picking her up Saturday AM on the Hamble. We can't get in to Christchurch at any sensible time this weekend, so we plan to leave her in Lymington for the week. This means the only constraint we have is getting her to Lymington sometime on Sunday afternoon.

So who fancies meeting up, and where?

Have they put a SC29 in the water yet? They wont know for sure what the air draught is going to be until they do but I bet its within a centimetre or two of what they estimate. In any case if its really close to the max at 3.14m, is it wise to consider the boat? Surely the water level in the river can vary quite considerably anyway?

There's a couple of photos of one in the water in this month's MBM. Certainly looks like she's sitting more or less on her marks.

May cause identification problems for Oldgit, 'cos she doesn't look much like a Sealine................. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Editorial clarification: the photo is of the S29 (not the SC). Still looks like she's on her marks, tho'..........

Mmmm. Bear in mind that a pressure change of one millibar will raise or lower water levels by approx 1cm. So you go up river on a nice day with high pressure, but over lunch, a storm comes through, the pressure drops 15mbar in half an hour and you can't get home...
