I haven’t touched it since first handling it, so as delivered still.
I hadn’t considered the possibility of scratching my boat with it. Maybe I should get in touch with the supplier.
After filing are you repainting the galvanic coating ?

I'd suggest, as a service to others (who might enjoy the benefit of the introduction of quality control) that anyone who has bought an Epsilon and feels improvements could be made should contact Lewmar. Including pictures of examples of defects will help Lewmar to make changes. I would also suggest you define where and when you bought the anchor as this might enable Lewmar to identify batches that might have slipped through the net.

Lewmar may simply not know of the issues and a politely worded message of advice should be welcomed.

No-one has mentioned that their anchor does not perform well - and acknowledgement that they got the design right will also be gratefully received (or not if there are issues).

Constructive criticism. :). Photos are worth more than a thousand words. :).

On the basis that the anchor performs as well as hoped, or expected, and with its very attractive price it really does not seem very difficult nor expensive to overcome these 'teething' problems. For those of you contemplating grinding your anchor smooth - you might be the beneficiaries of Lewmar's largesse and receive an anchor of 'merchantable' quality as a replacement. Grinding will remove the gal, offering a site for preferential corrosion (as implied on another post) - a complaint that would be of your own 'production' (even if justified).

While a galvanized anchor is not boat jewelry....it has to be remembered that Lewmar supply the complete ground tackle solution to manufacturers....especially when it has included the Delta...if Lewmar want to replace that with the Epsilon....it is for new boats, fresh in the showroom or boat show. It will look bad in those situations

I think the boat show displays will have the shiny SS version?

Yes, in the bigger upmarket range...but for most of the range it will be as sold...steel. And even mass market production boats have to look pristine and perfect in a showroom or boat show

They will need to look really good on MoBos to compete with Ultra, and have no baggage.

Bad news travels ever so quickly.

Fortunately for Lewmar people have, very, short memories and if Lewmar get their act together it will be forgotten and forgiven

Just for completeness this is my Epsilon. Photo taken today. Looks better now the shine has come off it from several immersions in Poole mud
