Hi folks.

A little advice if you please. I have been boating for about 5 years or so now and have gradually moved my way up through a variety of day-boats and currently have an 18ft SeaHog Sealord dayboat/sports fisher. I now think its time to move on, more comfort, enclosed wheel shelter, that sort of thing.

I have read the article in this months MBM and like the look of the sports fishers on show, but not the price. I would like a sports fisher as the option of speed for skiing / ringo's etc is nice.

The boat has to be trailable, not fussed too much about inboard/outboard/diesel as it only gets used one or two times a month. I like the look of the Bayliner Trophy's, that sort of thing, but I am open to advice. Finally, the big question, my budget is about 15K.

What does the forum think? What experiences have any of you had with this sort of thing? Any advice, warnings and sarcasm is appreciated!

Best of boating.

Dave.

Re: Bayliner Trophy

Try the Bayliner owners club forum, there you will be able to ask owners what they really think of there craft.

Most seem delighted.

Bayliner always give great value boats for the money, you will notice that they are always less expensive than simillar sized & spec'd boats.

Many have there first boating experience with affordable bayliners, the downside to this is they will sometimes be knocked about as novice owners are learning boat handling etc for there first time.

Having said that there are many about that have been lovingly maintained, just have to find a good one!

Happy shopping
