a wee bit, sometimes they have specifically thicker head gaskets, at least they used to in petrol engines a couple of decades ago. Haven't enquired lately
should be OK for the car park :p (and pre-sail test trail )

Head skimmed!

Video below for those sad like me who like that sort of thing
Head Skim

Only a very light skim required. Just under 0.15mm taken off. The engineer said…

“Very light considering it’s size Average head skim for a 4 cylinder car engine is 0.004 - 0.008” / 0.10 - 0.20mm, for something nearly half the length of yours”

Head back on and torqued down. 30/60/100nm….90 degrees then another 90 degrees is hard work!

Should look good when it’s all the same colour as the rocker ??

Nice to be building up again. I’m going to get this one mostly done before doing the partially stripped other engine so I can check where things go!

yep, I believe the reason for twin engines is so that when you mess with the one, you can check where things go on the other  Now that everyone takes pics on his mobile of the stages, we are slowly going back to single engine installations

how are you going to paint the block/bits Google? I mean brush it on, or spray? And does the paint have special additives to withstand the engine heat?
