Hi,
I need to order a new set of Genoa sheets for a Contessa 32. Frankly Ive no idea what would be best. I dont have a chandlery anywhere near so need to order online. I dont want to end up with sheets too small or too heavy. needs to be kind on the hand but not fluffy. Also ive got ST46 winches, Something that will work well with them. Sheets are not cheap so id thought Id see what you might recommend. I dont need racing spec but as im buying some I might as well get something nice to handle. I would be grateful for any advice please.
Thanks

I prefer the softer, grippier feel of matt to 'straight' braid on braid, which I consider a bit 'shiny'.

I would probably now buy dyneema and put a soft shackle in the end, or a spliced eye and use a soft shackle.

Hi Poecheng
My last genoa sheets were as you describe. easy to work with, can one find Matt braid on braid?. I have very limited knowledge of ropes and the different types hence the question.

Thanks

Just been through this conundrum. Didn’t want to spend dyneema money but wanted better than plain polyester braid on braid. After much research I went with Liros Herkules which I’m very pleased with. Look and feel is very good. Match the rope diameter needed according to sail area, the Liros website provides the sizing matrix.

We have used 12mm braid on braid on yachts from 27ft to 44ft. It's plenty strong enough for our 44ft mono. It's not too heavy in light airs but is easily handled
