<font color=blue>Prices vary enormously depending whom you talk to. You can pay from £3,500 - £5,000
The best thing is to shop around. Start with Marlec Marine at Ramsgate and speak to Mike Roberts, he tends to nit-pick but only because he tailor makes them and wants them right. They have a website.
My present boat is the 1st one I have ever had with a built in gennie. I now wonder how I ever existed without one.

Suggest you try www. generators.co.uk/. I bought from them a few months ago with excellent service, free delivery and the lowest price I could find anywhere. Just a satisfied customer!

I have just paid 3000 + vat for a 4.5 kva from Fischer Panda and it is a superb piece of kit. I had to haggle with them somewhat coz they started at 4000.

They were also the only company that had a unit in stock instead of having to wait two weeks plus for delivery.

We had it fitted by Marlec who did a very neat job.

Watch out for an outfit called Sunshine Maritime. They appear to be UK based but are in the Canaries. This lead me to wonder about warranty work etc.

<hr width=100% size=1>We don't want a sports cruiser, totally impractical. Err ok then.

Likewise, we had one fitted to our Sealine S37. At the 2001 SBS, Fischer Panda were offering 40% off their 4 kv unit. With (very professional) installation, the whole lot came to a little over £3000 - a very good deal. The unit was very quiet, and powered all SHMBO 240v requirements, plus TV, Microwave, charger, water heater etc all at the same time. When rafted to (rather cheeky) friends, they would often pass us an extansion lead for their own use as well!!.

When the boat was sold last year, the genny put it at the front of the queue, and it went very quickly.

<font color=blue>I know how it is. I am fitted with a 9.7kva Gennie and find myself supplying power to 2 or 3 boats and in one famous instance a Merquee too.

<font color=blue>I don't think because if the exhaust hole is to be semi submerged they can put weights on the bow to expose the area as required.
