Yellow card hand twitching

For someone who has been openly critical, to say the least, regarding harsh treatment of newcomers, you manage to make a great impersonation of a person able to bend over far enough to maintain a full watch of his own bowel movements before they happen.

Try this stunt again and you are toast. Satisfied?

Meantime (and back to my genial usual polite self) if you think there is any double ID/troll issue the deal is to PM me.

Hi Keith

Good to hear from you...

For what it is worth the bath has since been incorporated into many cruise in company briefings when it comes to be the bit about wide berth for slower boats and keeping wash under control etc etc. So you have become a part of CiC folklore.

Quite a large displacement boat contingent on that cruise if I remember correctly, probably the most we ever gathered. The numbers dropped off a bit after I sold Incalzando...I never quite worked out whether this was natural (certainly a few owners i knew moved to faster boats) or whether some thought we no longer catered for slower speeds (which in fact was not true...have spent many peaceful last hours of the day at 7-10 knots in Sealine F36/F37!).

Cannot help but feel the Sealine 305 must feel a bit tiny compared to your Eurobanker but the shared bills sound useful.

Apologies for the slightly rough landing here...I think your chosen heading did it for a wannebe Witchfinder General, out to claim his first troll scalp! Anyhow, welcome.

Kim,

Yes agreed our 305 is much more restricted in size, but after a lot of arm twisting and convincing I managed to get my Dad to agree to a fast machine!!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif He can have a bath before he leaves the house and when he returns.

Also, I take very good care financially of the front half of the boat. I had to clean the toilet waste pipe out the other day! It is not my fault if his half is more expensive to run. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Double ID is when someone posts under multiple user names (usually for mischievous intent)
A troll is a posting by someone which is intended to cause trouble. Something like petrol engines are much better than diesel engines, or anything to do with flags on scuttlebutt

<hr width=100% size=1> I asked an economist for her phone number....and she gave me an estimate

The WWW gives this as a definition:

troll v.,n. To utter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames. Derives from the phrase "trolling for newbies"; which in turn comes from mainstream "trolling";, a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite.

The well-constructed troll is a post that induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves look even more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying to the more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberate troll.

If you don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it.

The following extract is from a broader expansion of the defining comments given above:

In Usenet usage, a troll is not a grumpy monster that lives beneath a bridge accosting passers-by, but rather a provocative posting to a newsgroup intended to produce a large volume of frivolous responses.

The content of a "troll posting generally falls into several areas. It may consist of an apparently foolish contradiction of common knowledge, a deliberately offensive insult to the readers of a newsgroup, or a broad request for trivial follow-up postings.

There are three reasons why people troll newsgroups:

People post such messages to get attention, to disrupt newsgroups, and simply to make trouble.

Career trollers tend for the latter two whilst the former is the mark of the clueless newbie and should be ignored.
