What discount should I get on a new diesel engine (~28hp) from list price. I've already been quoted approx 30% for a new Yanmar. Should I get more for supply and fit?

that's about what i got. you could try a couple of other dealerships but they get a bit difficult if you ask one dealer to supply into another's territory.

we got 30% from Beta - we fitted it ourselves. I suggest that the discount you have been offered is about right; as far as fitting is concerned, any negotiation for that would be with the dealer or yard that does the job and in the how long is a piece of string category!

where did you get -30% for yanmar? I was interested in a 3gm30f but haven't had a quote that good.
