Just wondering, I am thinking of using TEK-DEC on my fiberlass sloop, but just a quick question. Does Teak Decking ( real Teck ) have to be screwed to the deck.
Can you not just make up an epoxy bog on the deck and lay it onto that, without using any screws. I have used wooden battens on the inside to suspend a headliner and just glued them in place usig epoxy, why can I not do this with the teak?? Is it too oily a wood or am I thinking on the wrong side of yesterday???

A friend of mine successfully stuck down a teak deck. He use beads of sikaflex gunned across the grain about 3 or 4 inches apart, and pressed the strips of teak firmly down to bed it in. When cured, sikaflexed the gaps, final sanding, then teak oil.
ps: Interested in tek-dek myself, anyone have any comments?
