Well after years of saving and months of searching I've bought the 'new' boat! She's a Ron Holland designed Golden Shamrock Half Tonner. I had been dreaming of a Twister or a Contessa or a beautiful Dutch steel boat but finally was seduced by 'Take Five' for one principle reason;
I could afford her (nearly)
Of course additional factors were that the interior layout appealed to my wife, the boat came with a nearly new set of sails (as well as a whole Volvo full of old headsails and 2 spare mains), all of the electrics worked and she looked like a good sea boat.
And now the Yanmar mysteriously refuses to start and I'm overwhelmed by all of the work the boat needs as she's a bit 'tired'. I'm wondering why I didn't stitch myself up with a massive mortgage and buy the Westerly we looked at a month earlier.
Am I just suffering with a yotties form of post-natal depression?
