After much searching and a touch of indecision along the way we have finally bought our latest boat.
As some may recall, our journey started about a year ago when we sold our Fairline Targa 35 with the idea of getting a yacht. We got as far as considering an offer on one before we thought things through and decided to stick with power. That was around July last year and since then we have considered various options from flybridges to sports cruisers, looked at some nice and not so nice boats, negotiated on one or two with somewhat unrealistic owners and even had an offer accepted only for the survey to throw up some issues we just weren't happy to live with.
Along the way we visited the London Boat Show and enjoyed looking around the used boat pontoons and were quite impressed with the Broom 41 that Norfolk Yacht Agency had on display.
At that time we didn't think it was for us but when the purchase on the other boat fell through because of the survey we went and had another look at the Broom at the NYA site in Brundall. Surprisingly she hadn't sold so after a look at other options and negotiations with NYA we struck a deal and last weekend we took delivery.
NYA have been a pleasure to deal with and the boat, despite being some 20 years old, is in excellent condition. We are absolutely delighted with her but boy is she big compared to our Targa. Fortunately she is our second Broom so I am getting the hang of shafts again quite quickly.
As ever people on here have been helpful with my various requests for information and advice (particularly volvopaul) so I thought it only right to share the outcome.
I haven't posted pics on here for a long time so i hope they appear okay....
