Saturday saw us take delivery of our new to us Nimbus 3003. She's a 1988 boat with a TAMD41a engine.
The only trip we've made so far is from Hamble Point where we bought her to East Cowes which will be her new home. The original plan was for Tim Griffin and Roy "Spotty Dog" to Rib over from the IOW and one of them drive ours back. As with all good plan A's a plan B was needed which involved me driving to East Cowes finding a very large vacant pontoon that I could get close enough for Tim to jump on and park her up on our berth which is where she'll remain until the engines are serviced and I can get some pontoon bashing time booked in.
A little about the boat, 31ft LOA single engine on a shaft, seemed to cruise quite happily at 15 knots.
There's a forward V shaped cabin which rather than being more of a sleeping berth lends itself nicely to social area with a decent table, plenty of light and of course being a boat, a drinks cabinet. To the Starboard side of this main cabin you have the heads with a shower and Port side has a separate sort of 1.5 berth size bunk which can be closed off.
The Cockpit is partially enclosed with a hard top with a canvas cover to the rear, under the hard top we have the helm, a cooker, sink and a fridge.The canvas cover is over a U shaped seating area which when you lift one of the cushions and slide a slidey thing you can access the double aft cabin with it's own vanity unit and small corner seat.

I concur
You will have great times with 'Infinity' I reckon
The TAMD41 is a solid lump
Keep yur eye on the end caps of the heat exchangers/oil coolers and pipe seals though
The 'Lump' is good kit
The 'marinisation' bits are the only Achillies heal
Took the same model to Bangor Northern island once from Liverpool
Snotty weather along the way
Boat was great
Yep, I am a Nimbus fan as lots know
I just like the build quality and the layout they have
Vikings were always good at seafaring
Some say!
 
Congrats. We saw her over the marina rail at weekend. I’m the partner of Sandra, the Round the Island walker you rescued. We met briefly a few weeks back, on our Hardy.

Enjoy the dark side - we moved from sail to motor four years back. Takes some adapting, but a few season on I’m quite happy with a larger boat that slips sideways :)
 
Look really nice Col. V good order by the look of it.

Now we have to rid you of those yottie ways.

No 1.
You no longer need to crash into the dock at high speed, leap off the boat and wrangle it to a halt. Just glide in gently, the fenders kiss the dock as the boat stops, lasso the cleats and step off once tied up. All one handed of course so you don’t have to put your GandT down. In other words you don’t need all those fenders!!!! :):)

Ah! was waiting for someone to comment on that :D. My reason for dangling so many is we found a load more on board and rather than take up valuable space inside I thought I'd hang them over the edge.

Hello, Yes! we met briefly on Sunday as I was trying to lug my dinghy up the gangway, our old boat is on S pontoon and I was going backwards and forwards loading stuff from one to the other and getting a bit fed up as I had a stinking cold, which I passed on to Tim so aint happy with me. Lovely boat you have there, admire it every time I go past.

I expect she will park better one side than the other with a single shaft. Have you a bow thruster too ?

Nice boat to begin your stink potting in.
 
You may have met some members of the Nimbus Owners Club, UK as there are quite a number at East Cowes.
If you haven't already you may like to visit: http://www.nimbusowners.co.uk/ .
They are a great bunch and we have come to the UK to several functions at or near Lymington.
If you were to join the club we may meet up at the AGM/Rally late April 2019.
We imported our Commander 380 ('Nordic Blue') from Nthn Ireland to NZ late 2016 and have no regrets.
She is a great sea boat and we have loved exploring the North Eastern NZ coast.
