New boat old style

I want to buy a motorboat (dayboat) for use on The Italian riviera. I have about £70,000 to spend. I remember, some time ago, seeing an article in a mag about a company that was building modern boats in the fifties style. Can anyone help? Or I would apreciate information on any Classic style motorboat built to 21st century spec. grateful

Well, I guess THE classic style motor boat is the Riva Aquarama but I doubt whether your budget will get even an old one. For a different slant, you could look at Apreamare or Menorquin who both make trad style Med boats but with modern hulls. Another manufacturer worth looking at is Chris Craft who have started making retro style boats similar to those they made in the 50/60's
Worth going to the Genoa Boat Show next month where all the above should be represented

Agree wrt Chris Craft and Cranchi. Jeanneau (of all people) are also doing retro style runabouts (see below).

Loads of the all important loafing space on the back.

Alternatively, if you want a top quality day boat how about a Windy 25 or perhaps one of the Nimbus 25 footers?

The important element here is the endorsement by the Danish Royal Family - the boat in the background will be the family boat, the one you cant see is the Dragon (also built by Petticrows) which the Crown Prince is likely to be racing out of shot..

Very good point. I must confess I drooled over a Dragon during a Petticrows open day. Beautiful workmanship. 'The Dane' is not bad at racing them either.

Thanks to all of you who posted replies to my query. I'm going to be selfish now , and ask for web links and pictures. I did get one picture from Forbsie (Thank you) which showed the sort of boat I'm looking for. But I need a bit more info to track down what I would like.

These two "modern classics" do not fit the stated budget, but are world class quality (I've been on both with my boss) look great and would be much more unique than an Aquarama or Aquariva in the Med:
