Among the usual tripe that pops up on Facebroke was this little map.
I’m currently in Gouda which is halfway on a line between Utrecht and ‘s-Gravensande and would be sea according to this. Don’t much like the cheese but some nice breweries!

The young stuff is crap but there are some very decent aged ("belegen") Gouda cheeses, and Boerenkaas (made with raw milk) is worth trying too. Any cheese shop will let you have a taste. Belegen Komijnekaas (aged Gouda with cumin seed) is fabulous

Love the geitenkaas met koriander Mmmm Lekker!
Last year we were in Alkmaar for the cheese market great fun and some lovely cheeses. I much prefer the oud kaas to the "jonge belegen" but a salty Edam bol is not to be sniffed at either.

Tomorrow we will be out on the water at Holland's deep, just off Willemstad, trying out our new to us boat :D

Have you bought from White Whale? They are near there and had a very nice Nimbus 305 when I was looking. Too expensive for me though

No not them, from Kappers at Sluispad Noord 1

This is the Broom Ocean 37 that we are buying, we have agreed a price on principle subject to the test sail which is tomorrow afternoon.
Broom Ocean 37 - 1978 | Jachtmakelaardij Kappers

We had a look at another couple of them, we like the layout and such, and this was the best of the lot we seen, good service history too, and the late owner had spent a fortune in renovating her, almost as much as the asking price over the past few years. just a couple of things left to do on her but they are not critical to her operation. The owner passed away earlier this year and the family are selling her off, so we got a good deal on her and we are paying the figure I first thought of when we seen her so we are happy and they seem to be happy too.

Very nice, some on here recommended Brooms but they are too high to fit under the bridges on Canal du Midi. Bon voyage!

Thanks :)
At 2.5m? More worried about the beam and draught at 3.6m and 1.1m respectively.
The marketing for the Broom is that it is designed to fit through the canals in Europe, the radar arch folds down as does the Bimini along with the windows taking the air draught down to 2.5m, it is the depth in the water that is of more concern the boat draws about 1.1m.
There are members of the Broom Owners Club that have taken their Brooms down the Canal Du Midi to the Med.
