Need some more information
Good morning WayneS,
when I saw your original post, I was optimistic that I can be of help but after reading your recent explanations . I am not so sure. My main concern is with the injections.
First , I am not a doctor . I only have first hand experience with what she's going through.
My back problems started with a accident(swimming pool) . sometime during 1976 . It's a long and miserable story until 1989 . when I discovered accidentally the remedy for my problem. I help with several of my friends and colleagues since then , it's very easy and it works unfortunately , I don't think it will work with persons who has had surgery and possibly injections. First , I am surprised that MRI did not show any abnormalities assuming it's a low back problems . here are a few things You can have her do first to determine if there's a chance that this will work for her.
First find out from her , if the pain in her hip is sciatica
is it on her left or right side , and if the pain radiates down and if it does how far?
If she's currently not taking any pain pills, ask her to find a position(any) were there is no pain exists . this is very important. there should be absolutely NO pain in that position.
one more time to make it clear, for instance , in my case , I had to lean my upper body to my right about 15°. In this position . not only I did not feel any pain but I felt great relief. she should be able to find at least one position.
This test that I'm going to ask You to do and all exercises that she does should be made with this one very important information in mind there should be NO discomfort.(This means if there is any discomfort whatsoever she must STOP.)
Have her lay on her back(all of the moves and exercises should be made with very slow motion) . use something like pillows to support her calves parallel to the floor, name of the body part that escapes me right now is the part between the knee and the hip should be vertical , should make any modification is necessary so there is no pain whatsoever.
Have her hold on to something that will not move.(Over her head in horizontal direction)
Now , You will hold on to her hip's and in slow motion pool her in the opposite direction of her head while You're gently pulling . she should let You know , if the pain decreases and if it does . when the pain is completely gone . You should maintain this pool for 20 to 30 seconds, force necessary for this will be some were around 10 to 15% of her body weight and if this test results in no pain, there's a good chance that she can be cured 100% depending on the severity . this can take between 1 month to 6 months.
By a stationary bike adjusted for the lowest setting of resistance and have her ride for a minimum of five minutes to make sure she does, stay with her . This stationary bike exercise conducted if there is No pain while riding.
Provided there's no objections from her doctor, she should consider taking anti-inflammatory over-the-counter medicine
she should not do any exercises just for sake of doing it , unless the exercise provides absolutely NO pain and during this period should stay away from anything that causes even the slightest pain or discomfort.
In the morning hot showers should be reduced to a warm temperatures and not directed in the low back area. And if possible during the day , if anything she does , causes a pain she should put the ice pack in that area as soon as possible, preferably within 30 minutes sooner the better . And keep it on for about five minutes.
This should give You some ideas and all of the above should be discussed with your doctor so there is nothing, is conflicting
all of the above information with assumptions it's a low back problem involving the disks number three to five.
Please send me a message if there are any questions.
While most people will tell You the exercise is the key keep it in mind no exercise should cause any discomfort in the affected area.
If the above information is useful for her I will share additional information in the future.
Best of luck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PS at one time I was told by a doctor, only solution to my problem was a surgery while it may be necessary in some cases; I believe majority of people with low back problems can be 100% normal, with proper exercising
