Hi Happy,
Sorry for the delayed response but I didnt think the question was serious yes of course I have a depth guage.
Actually I wasnt driving my mate was and he was watching the guage constantly.
Looking back I should have set the alarm and I should have changed the angle of the leg and we should have been going slower.
As I said this was a real shame all the fun and achievement of the trip was forgotten and of course nobody wants to talk about that just the disaster
But things could have been can always be worse
Robin

Well Robin, what I have learnt from this is that there are alarms on the depth guages, I honestly did not know that, so that is a positive thing. Your experience has at least helped me to focus on resaerching my own guage.

Cheers and thanks for the reply.

Re: ? apologise

Grump

Now you can see that Robin also thought that your question was a "smart-arse" (as I did) perhaps you would consider apologising to pheran who bit first.

I think you can safely assume 99.999% of recent 26ft bats will have some form of depthsounder and your question therefore merely implied he wasn't looking at it.

BTW re alarms + depthsounders, the normal answer to most questions is RTFM - did you not get manuals for every electrical item/piece of equipment on a new boat? If not, I suggest speaking to your dealer (nicely).

Re: ? apologise

Anthony,

Actually I ffing didn't!! I had to contact Volvo for the engine manual and I am working on the others. My boat manual was unreadable and mouldy, I am just a bit pi..ed of at the moment. As for my dealer, well what can I say, you may have to pick up the story on another thread it is too much to explain. I don't even know what an ffing 'bats' is, it has taken me all the time to learn about safety and laws relating to the marine environment without also being an ffing boat spotter. I will leave you with your binos and note pad boat spotting, I have some serious threads to post /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Have a wonderful Easter /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: ? apologise

Dear Grump,

I am sorry I mistyped boats as bats.
I am sorry you have had so much trouble from your dealer including not getting the required manuals.
I am extremely sorry about your entirely understandable distress about a possible flaw in the hull.

I have no idea what you are referring to with <<ffing boat spotter>> and <<binos and note pad >>.

However, all said, I am interested in why you fly off the handle so quickly at all and sundry e.g.
<<I have some serious threads to post>>
snapping at people who think you have gone overboard on safety equipment
having 2 pops at someone suggesting you were posing as an expert
demanding apologies from others that you are not prepared to give yourself

Was this the sort of trouble you had on ribnet?

Thank you for your wishe for Easter, unfortunately we will not be back in the water until afterwards, so it's work instead.

Best wishes with your boat problems, but calm it a little

Anthony

Re: ? apologise

It's been a bad week for me Anthony, and now I am being picked on by some forum bullies!
