Hi can anyone recommend a good ( cheap ) chandlery near London.

I am going to be there over the Weekend an want to pick up an Autopilot ( wheel pilot) and a new Loo (jabsco manual) .

Regards.

Well, Ocean Leisure was there when I last looked (close to Embankment tube station), but I wouldn't call them cheap, and I doubt that they would stock the loo or autopilot, either!

There may be a list of stockists on the web-site of the autopilot manufacturer that you've chosen.

Oh for the day's of Thomas Foulkes, spending lunchtimes & cash underneath the arches in Leytonstone /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif God I'm getting old!

Me too, what a place that was, still have some tins on the ex-WD lanolin they used to sell

I used to go there very often when I was on business trips down south. Quaint old place, I used to buy all sorts of 'interesting' bits.
Good things can't last forever.

You are going to have trouble getting a swindler in London the online chandlers have done them out of business, if you put into the Medway there are a few Aladins Cave near Stoud and theres another on the A2 mid way London-M25. You can also nip up the Thames to Shepperton.

All other stuff we go to motor factors, timber yards and Maplins and save lots of money.

In Holland they have a funny idea thats its good to have a chandler near a marina.
