Navionics Boating App renewal

I have navionics on my chart MFD ( mounted at the wheel) and have updated the subscription and chart a couple of days ago

I have the Boating app on my ipad as a back up but the subscription for updates expired last April. It would be nice to update my ipad charts which are for standby /home planning purposes. Does anyone know if I do renew whether the charts will be renewable for a year from when I pay or will navionics backdate the renewal to the original expiry date meaning updates will ceasing in April ??

My experience is that you get a year from renewal, when the subscription has lapsed. I’ve never renewed soon after the expiry date though, usually 4 or more months later.
