Na\'Tant 24

While looking around a boatyard today the boss and I came accross an Na' Tant 24. SWMBO liked the boat so some time was spent taking it for a test run. We were both impressed with it but have no knowledge of this craft. The broker who was selling it said it had just come onto brokerage and did not have a spec. on it.
It had he told me a Merc. 34hp diesel engine. It certainly had four cylinders and was diesel but I could not find a makers plate on it. Any information on this boat and engine would be most helpful are engine parts readily available etc. and how do you value this type of boat?

Re: Na\'Tant 24

I recall looking at one at the So'ton Boat Show about 15 or so years ago. It appeared to be a well made displacement cruiser.

Also recall that it had a good write up in magazines at the time.

In good condition I would value it somewhere between about £12 - 16 k.

Re: Na\'Tant 24

The engine will be a Merc OM636 almost certainly. Quite common in things like Ocean 30s, not that easy to ge bits for although some specialists around and being oldish technology and therefore long lasting.
Have a look at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.west-4x4.demon.co.uk/om636/>http://www.west-4x4.demon.co.uk/om636/</A>
