Naked Germans

Aesthetic disgust is in the eye of the beholder - Lakey wants to lock up naked men because he doesn't like looking at naked men (or perhaps he prefers them in a cage?). Given that he's perfectly happy to see naked women that would be sexism. I'm not best pleased when I see fat ugly people naked either, but perhaps part of the reason they are fat is low self esteem from this kind of thing.

I couldn't give a shit what fat people think about themselves. That is their problem.

Not necessarily. Mrs pvb and I are currently on hols in Vera Playa, Spain's unique huge naturist resort. There are Germans, certainly. There are fat and wrinkly people. And there are males (about 50% of visitors, strangely). And there are also hundreds and hundreds of the most beautiful people imaginable. So don't knock naturism too readily!

Better without the less beautiful people, as you acknowledge.

& how many just leering?

I have no problem with nudists, the problem in the UK is that society as a whole has become prudish and automatically associates nudity with sex. A more relaxed attitude would help a lot.

Also, I find this also applies for the showers in gyms. The amount of fellas who shower in their gym gear is just odd - you can't be clean if you get washed while wearing clothes!!

Combined laundry and shower seems OK to me, especially in the sort of harbour ablutions that provide no laundry facilities...

Mike.

What a thoroughly pleasant chap you are Lakey. Let's hope you never have self esteem or depression issues, although perhaps that's what drives these kinds of post? There are several organisations that can help you get back on track if you need them, Mind.org.uk sane.org.uk and rethink.org are just a few.

This thread is interesting to me because Americans generally think of Europeans as more open-minded and tolerant, but this doesn't seem to apply to the British. I recall reading that a man has been held in jail for years in Great Britain for refusing to wear clothes. Of course, his treatment in the US would not be kinder. He'd probably get the death penalty in Texas.

Most normal British people are tolerant and open minded. Internet forums bring out the worst in people, even when they wouldn't say those sorts of thing in public. The naked gentleman didn't break the law and would likely win if he could afford to properly pursue the case since there is no law in the UK preventing nudity, only laws about lewd acts in public. On his journeys, the majority of people he met were amused and treated him well - I suspect that would have been quite different across the pond although I've never been there so couldn't say for sure. The British generally love eccentricity but unfortunately the press have forced the police to stamp this sort of thing out by winding up the public to the point we insist "something must be done" and that someone should "think of the children" even when nothing needs doing and the children are in no danger.

You think it is UNFORTUNATE that men can no longer expose themselves to children? You are the one who needs help mate, sick f****r!! :ambivalence:

Mr B, surely there is a world of difference between going naked and "exposing" oneself which is usually a deliberate and directed act?

I am a very pleasant person thank you. I would be wasting the thin resources of those organisations you mention.
Just because I have different opinions to you (particularly thinking about the blagger/blogger threads) doesn't mean that you are the sane one.

Exactly my point, the media has him worked up to the point where he's now unable to distinguish between not wearing clothes and paedophilia and that is what I find unfortunate.

I never said you weren't sane, I was simply asking if you needed help because you seem to be unreasonably hateful towards strangers and that can be one of the signs of distress in a person who has issues they are unable or unwilling to deal with on their own. If you're certain you don't have these issues then that leaves the other conclusion that your just a nasty person, which is OK too I just didn't want to assume.

I am pleased we have cleared that up. Except for your erroneous conclusion, of course.
You must realise that because someone isn't the same as you doesn't make them a bad person. Possibly just less gullible.

If you think walking about around kids exposing your man veg is ok you have a morally questionable mindset.:suspicion::disgust:

If you think the only reason to be naked is sex then I would start by looking in the mirror for worrisome minds. Children don't have a problem with it either, they are taught to fear nudity as they grow by prudes and paranoid media. Next you'll be telling me men mustn't venture into the woods in case they accidentally abuse someone while they are in there! Perhaps I should get off the Internet too in case the porn gets me?
If you have so little self control that you can't be naked without getting aroused and sexually abusing anything in your sight then you really do need some help. Morals have literally nothing to do with state of dress.

Exactly what I wanted to say but didn't know how to say it!!

Do you or have you worked for the BBC or a Politician by any chance? They all thought it was ok too. You're not related to Rolf Harris or Jimmy Savil are you?:ambivalence:

No to all. You, on the other hand, seem quite obsessed with the topic for some reason so I'll pop you on to ignore.

If you think nude distance walking is the same or at least just as despicable as abusing hundreds of children over decades you've got it wrong.

Fun fact: just did a search for the "naked rambler" as the press called him, in order to see if I had missed something. Google however decided to "exclude the term "naked" from this search because SafeSearch is activated" That's of course thanks to Three and their policy on adult content. I could go to their shop and have it unblocked but who wants to be seen as a perv?*

*yeah, could use DuckDuckGo or TOR but that's beside the point
