My Vivacity

I sold my Vivacity 20 on ebay the other day for £1,400. Then the winning bidder rang to say his grandaughter has meningitis and he can't think straight and do I mind going to the second bidder. Being a soft mug I said 'Of course' and now the second bidder hasn't responded to my email so I'm going have to re list in a weeks time.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the other Vivacity 20 that just went for £2,200

Why do people do these things?

It's a PITA, I know, but make sure you at least get your listing fee credited by eBay.

The other one selling for £2200 could be to your advantage if you relist promptly.

I was thinking of sticking it on as a 'Buy now' £1,400 but I can't show anyone the boat until the weekend after next. What do you think I should do?

She was on boats and outboards for nearly a year with out a nibble. Shame, she really is a nice one.

I have been an Ebay user for about 5 years, but I still got stung this weekend in the same way as you with a Landrover I was selling.

Report the buyer as a non payer to Ebay to get your listing fees back. Relist the boat and explain why you have relisted it, this is important because people need to know that it didnt sell cos the buyer was a plonker(They may think there was a problem with the boat).

I have to say, if I had realised that your V was still for sale I might nver have bought Merit, but I had assumed she'd gone (still glad I bought Merit though).

My brother got very excited about a boat on ebay recently. My advice (strong advice) was don't go within four fathoms without a survey.

We made an offer to the vendor but he went with Ebay and sold it to a chap who took it on spec without a survey, so if there is a market then folk will buy on Ebay.

Make sure your auction is due to end at a peak time. A lot of people will come in VERY late, but they are less liekly to wake up sepcially and even less likely than that to stop work.
