Marseillan is a lovely stopover
Yes. Stopped there too and visited the Noilly-Prat place then went up the canal to the circular lock and back down through Agde.
There was a band playing in the evening on the little plaza at the end of the harbour in Marseillan with lots of people dancing. Very nice.
Was quite surprised you can't get out of the lake at Marseillan Plage - low bridges.

Amongst all the posts in this thread somewhere I have been talking about my stern thruster.....a quick update.....I tested the batteries and they were bad....ordered new ones....and dhl are just the worse...barely any communication and a week late...I practiced my French to give the driver my heartfelt opinion....when the batteries showed up....in a Post Office van !...you can’t tell off the postman, especially here. So I put it down to another of life’s painful lessons.
Installed them today (not easy....my fault...didn’t check to see if the terminals were on the same side. Still job done.
Except that didn’t make a blind bit of difference...been trying for the last two weeks to get the motor brushes from an English company...no joy...so today I ordered from another English company and they couldn’t be more helpful. Don’t know when they will arrive because of customs etc....but will strip and service the stern thruster motor when I have the brushes in my hands

Why pick on the driver who has nothing to do with how the company is run? That's just mau-mauing the the flak-catcher, and achieves nothing except ensuring the next delivery is put in the bin.

I agree.....except sometimes it is the driver....leaving off the distant town because it’s getting close to the end of the day...or pretending they can’t deliver because no one is there just so they can quickly unload at a parcel reception hub...so you have to lug heavy batteries home yourself.
But at the end of the day...until the driverless delivery system arrives....they are the face of the company....anyone else you talk to might not even be in the same country or real.

Why would the brushes fail after so few hours ( minutes really ) of use?
Does the impeller spin on its bearings and seals ok?

Might as well check the terminals for corrosion throughout, and delivered voltage under load , since you’re going down in the hole anyway.

Isn’t it fun though, working up a thirst before the next sundowner photo😎

I don’t know if the brushes have worn....it could be many things....carbon dust...faulty wire...motor winding failing...bearings...plastic bag in the tunnel.
But if I’m going to take it apart I might as well have at least some spares on hand,....given the lead time for delivery. And the brushes are the only consumable

You still get the sundowner whichever route it takes to get there
