At flipin last!!!!

Hopefully this is the plan.

We are heading to the boat on Saturday morning (SWMBO wants to go via Mothercare for Maternity clothes, but we'll see!!), where we expect the weather to be lovely, warm and sunny(fingers crossed). The boat is sitting with the main camper covers on, the engine has already been run up(nipped up last sunday to check all was well there) ready for the off, However it flipin manky!!!, so a wee bit of cleaning is require and a good polish. So that should take us up too say 2pm.
By that time another forum member should have made it up the road, fae that foreign country sarf of the border.
If tinstaafl has arrived then well will be heading straight out, possible a wee guant to Luss (about15nm), If theres any space on the Pier we will probably tie up and head to the Colquhoun Arms, for a bite too eat and a wee tipple.
Its great having a pregnant wife, if i have too many wee tipple, then i've always got a driver to drive us home, We've both done the PB2, infact she was better at the man over board than be, i kept running him over where she stopped right at the spot, mind you if shes fed up wae me, she might not want to be so accurate /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
She did say, can you please not going jumping the wakes of other boats this weekend, I don't want things too bumpy!!! Yes dear, i will look after you. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Anyway, the arse of the boat has a full winter of growth on it so, a couple of high speed runs, and we'll head back to the marina. Where if i can get away with it i'll drop SWMBO off and leave her with a neighbour, and then head back out with tinstaafl, and look for big Wakes that we can play about with and clean some of that scum of the bottom, That failing i know a little grassy bank, we may head for and i'll get into the water up to my oxters and clean it by hand.

Saturday night tinstaafl and his lovely lady have invited us for a veggie dinner, so we are looking forward to chickpea casserole and garlic, or something like that(only joking S & G /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif). And then the drinking will begin(again).
The funny thing about the end of last season, was 2 friends beside us at the marina took ill, 1 was diagnosed with a brain Tumour and the other had a heart problem with low blood pressure, they were both told too come off the drink. Funnily enough 1 of them phoned me last night and i was talking to the other earlier in the week, well they've both been told now that a wee dram would be good for them again. So they were asking how the Mrs is, and when we were going to be up? This weekend i Say, Looking forward to it, Can't wait i say!!! Great they say, we'll have a wee session this weekend then!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Yikes!!!!
So after a nice sedate dinner with friends, its looking like escalting to a right good piss-up.

Sunday, is forecasted to be good as well, So after a few Solpadeine Plus (the solvuble ones are the best /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) I guess we'll have a fry up, which is no mean feat on a cuddy boat!!! We'll probably gather a few boats together and head oot doon the loch.
Its funny, heading down the loch, is always quicker than heading UP the Loch!!!!
We'll possible head for Inchmurrin for Lunch, but it depends on the wind, cause if its a northerly, the piers a [oh really!] and mooring can damage the boat, Its not proper pontoons, its an old wooden thing. If not there we'll possible settle for Rowardennan , mind you just as bad if the wind ain't right, but a better choice of where to moor, and the hotel offers a gid meal.
We'll hopefully run aboot as much as possible to get rid of the old fuel from last season, before heading back to the marina.

Of coarse all this is in my imagination and none of it may happen, but i tell you for sure rain or shine, WE WILL BE AT THE BOAT THIS WEEKEND!!!! Yippee /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And before anybody reminds me, I know my wife is pregnant , We will be taking it easy /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif!!

All this is maybe not exciting too you, but too me, its the first outing this year, and i Cannae wait!!!!

Cricky, I've just previewed it and what a long post about nothing, really!
Must be a first for me /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Cheers

Alistair.

Oh, well this post was a success!!!

Anyway, I'm almost off for the weekend, Hope the weather holds.

Everybody have a gid weekend, and remember that camera!!

Safe boating,
Cheers

Yee hah! Have a good 'un!

My season was meant to start at the beginning of April and will, indeed, get going the minute I'm 100% confident that my outdrive has been fixed (see posts passim). In the mean time, a combination of continuous rain forecast for the Solent on Saturday, and SWMBO's participation in the Race for Life on Sunday means that my weekend will be boatless. Grrrrrr. :-)

So, nothing planned for the weekend then /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Have a great time, its been a long time coming.......(pause for response from PaulineB)

Regards

Martyn
