My new website

Not bad at all, jez. The W23 could do with some interior pics or at least a link to the W24 pics if they're the same inside. Also it would be good to have some 360deg views and/or vids but that can come in time
Best of luck with the new venture. I hope it works out

As a buyer I would like to see more pics of whole boat, inside & out, not just bits. Use Essex as an example but by no means perfect. Pricing structure should also be laid out as a guide price type thingy. Other than that much better than most others. Good luck & if I can help in any way get in touch. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Do you mean more pictures when you say complete pictures?
The W24 section shows 4 internal and 10 external, which I thought was enough.

Seeing the first W34 next week, so more piccies to follow...

Ha! Yes

Now we can ask the importer directly.... How come £500 for a stereo? £3K for a bowthruster ?

more seriously.. did you consider including basic delivery/commissioning?? I mean, who is gonna buy one off you without that?

[/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, it is £500 for:

Stereo
4 Water proof speakers
Helm remote

Ok, not bargin basement cheap, but it is good branded kit - not the rubbish you get at Halfords.

As for the Bowthruster, £3k (for the W34) is in line with 34ft boats from Aquador and Nimbus. Beneteau want £6k for one on the Monte 37 /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Do these prices reflect the true price ? I mean , it is all being done as it's built and some of the prices seem a tad excessive

Thanks Trev, that's a well specced boat. I can get one for the Spring /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Seriously though, I didn't want this to expand into a discussion about the product or pricing to avoid the commercial discussion.

You did go for the full teak (which includes fore deck, side deck, cockpit and swim platform) and the extended handover (which includes 2 day tuition, Aglaze, bed linnen and towles inadditiona to the normal delivery/comissioning/fenders/lines).

We will be offering teak for just the cockpit, as the side decks are themost expensive part and, for me, not a good option from a maitenance/useability pov.

Also, that is EVERY option (even the cockpit TV??????), which think is a fairly short option list for a boat of this size. Saloon TV should be £1195, so I'll get that changed.

Not sure how else to put it.

Your site is http://www.westline-boats.co.uk
At some point that name didn't exist, and all the links were www.satsu.co.uk/whatever...
Then there was some sort of conversion process to change the www.satsu.co.uk links to be www.westline-boats.co.uk links, but it looks like they missed a few.

Specifically, go to "Build a Boat" then "Build a 24": click back on one of the main Nav links (Home, Ranges, News etc.) and you'll see that the address at the top changes to be www.satsu.co.uk/...

This isn't right!

If you forward this to the web developers, they should undertstand what I'm on about.

No problem Jim /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif at least going through an order here gives you time to check the prices and put it right before someone gets put off , I'm a greedy bugger when I'm dreaming but you have to check all possibles /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif can you get a delivery for June ?

I'm sure she'll want one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and she's a forum contributor too /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As a non technical critic, I liked the site (and the boats) a lot.

Quick and easy to use and navigate.

1 point about the pic of the XC90 towing the 24-in the UK it would be illegal (XC90 towing limit 2250kg) probably better to replace it with a piccie of your new Navara and trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

great looking site best of luck with your new venture...

why is it when you build a boat on the 34 and you change the hull colour you get more side windows on the white than the blue hull ? or is it part of the spec I've not read?

No offence but I was unaware the use of "Eire" was an issue. Half of my family are irish and I dont recall it ever coming up, and the Post Office have always seemed happy with it as its on all stamps.

Hi Jez,

Looks pretty good. But since you asked for suggestions, here's a couple:

1) On the build a boat pages, do something about the instruction:

>>Enter your E-mail address if you would like to receive an example of the optional HTML formatted autoresponder.

which is presumably left-over technical mumbo jumbo and should say something like:

"Please enter your e-mail address for the total build price."

Better still, don't demand people's e-mail address before revealing your prices if you want people to actually see your prices; have the total build price displayed live as options are added and removed and then have a separate button with 'E-mail quote and further details'. Oh and send them a plain text e-mail which will show up properly rather than an HTML page which might not.

2) Get some BIG SEXY pictures of the boats onto the pages without any clicking or popping up. As it stands, it's like being made to look through a letterbox... the menu and the logo needlessly obscure the boats (the bit you're selling) on every page and you've got to sit and click pop-ups to see any real action. Is

http://www.westline-boats.co.uk/range.html

really the most heart-stopping, drop-dead gorgeous attention grabbing picture of a Westline you can find? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Best of luck with the venture...
