W24's a lovely looking boat btw. Amazed it's trailable.

Thank you, I liked the styling too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I am hoping the trailer potential will be one of its selling points.

You do have to have a fairly beefy 4x4 (Volvo XC90, Ladrover Disco, Nissan Pathfinder etc etc) - I wouldn't do it with the family saloon.

if you add that to the e mail you should cover yourself incase someone decides to order a boat before you're totally ready , wouldn't want to get caught out by some smug git who knows the full price , or thinks he does

Think that's what surprised me tbh, given the dry weight of ~2000kgs. All up on the trailer it'll be not far off 2750kgs if my Regal's anything to go by. I think our little 2 litre dismal engined X3 might struggle a bit /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Dont tell me you are advocating the use of 4X4s as well. Tut tut /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice site - Best of luck with it
not bad boats either!!

"Should've just called it British Isles as that covers Britain, Ulster and the bit down south with the penchant for euros!"

Little would irritate the citizens of the Irish republic or Eire more than the above!!!!
Stick with EIRE

You have spotted another pontial flaw. I understood from the Swedes that the weight with fuel and kit came in at 2250kg

Will check the dry weight with them on Monday. The X3 can tow quite a lot, but it would be at the upper end and I would probably er on the side of caution.

Remember the trailer will be ~500kgs which they may not have included. My twin axle SBS is 480kgs, add a boat of 1500kgs + a full tank of fuel from Morrisons and hey presto, you're heavy.

The X3 can tow 2000kgs easy but dragging up a slipramp it'll struggle. Beyond that it's X5, Range Rover or Disco territory. Which is why I'm looking to swap for an X5 or RR /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just tried it and I seem to have built a £63000 W24

Whoops.

Went for a big diesel and loads of toys then. Good - when would you like it delivered?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your first order, Jez. That was quick, well done.

[ QUOTE ]

Urm, not really sure what you mean. What do you mean by 'hold shift and open'?

[/ QUOTE ] Don't worry , it is a feature of Firefox. Place mouse pointer over a picture, hold 'Shift' and click left mouse button and it automatically opens picture in a new window.

as someone else mentioned - the ybw & oceanautic links need fixing.

even on a mac, there's a funny D in the page title. are the prices on the build-a boat page incl VAT? don't see a mention.

Otherwise, very nice site indeed. The 34 looks ace

You've missed an opportunity to buy a big diesel engined american pickup there, they can tow a house for 250,000 miles without noticing it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Navara's are OK though, chap I know used one to tow his PRG Race Shuttle around with 2 Caterhams in it. Think it went through a gearbox fairly swiftly but other than that it was fine.
