Excellent, dude. Possibly my favourite movie of all time.[/QUOTE

Mr McCulloch, you're a man of great taste. Not only the lover of an excellent classic film but also the owner of a beautiful classic boat. Now if only the brilliant Mr Kinsky had been running things at Preston there would have been a definite 'can do' attitude. ''What Ellie, you'd like your boat launching in Whitby?, no problem, I'll get 2,000 natives and we'll just drag it over the North Yorkshire Moors''. And all to the music of Gigli.

Now I was an advertising photographer back in the 'old days' and know nothing of Digital Media Marketing, buy I imagine that a story like that would have been a winner, that would have been worth an anchor or two.

This has the makings of a great ITV mini series................
But what star of t.v and big screen would play who?

I see it as a silent film myself. "Blaggers and Blackguards", starring Edna Purviance as The Girl and James Finlayson as the villain who thwarts her schemes. Moustaches will be twirled, and at some point the heroine will be tied to railway tracks ... to starve to death, because nothing's moving along them.

trouble is that it is not at all obvious who is the villain in this case.

I was actually starting to think about the scene in the documentary about the making of Fitzcarraldo where the local Amazonian gaffer talks to Herzog about 'offing' Kinski, who has been just a bit annoying.

Clearly the villain - whoever he or she is - has written a cease-and-desist letter. That's why it's a silent movie. I'd send you all invitations to the launch party, but it has been delayed.

Thin ice.
Many of us have decided that the Marina has acted very professionally, both in respect of their safety and commercial responsibilities and in openly inviting a swift resolution to the problem.
It really seems that the only problem is the financial barrier. That is certainly not their responsibility.

Well. You lay down the law and then break it yourself with another post. Groundhog Day indeed

Call me stupid, but why not use a floating pontoon mounted crane to lift the boat in.

No ground survey needed
No load spreading plates needed
No special insurance needed
No council permission needed
the boat is close to the edge of the harbor, so less capacity lift needed:)
