My new project... MFV Elizmor LOCKED

I kept up with the thread and the only abuse seemed to come from those accusing people of vitriolic organised bullying. When they were repeatedly asked for examples they always claimed they were too busy

Ho hum.

The previous thread regarding Elizmor was locked because we received numerous complaints from users who felt the thread had become abusive.

Did you check it to see whether they were right? There were a few posters on that thread who were quite regularly abusive, but only of other posters with whom they disagreed. I suspect that they were your complainants too.

We can apply the same principle here; e.g. here is a nice clean example of abuse:

""14 A DAY! OMFG Get a life ffs. I see that for some this forum is their life. And they tend to be the most bitter and aggressive.""

And for the record I did not complain about that because I am a grown up with broad shoulders.

Fair question; my guess is that ybw simply wants to clarify that it welcomes "lively debate", but frowns on threads which "become abusive". I imagine these terms are quite hard to precisely define; indeed a famous US Supreme Court judge once commented, "It is hard to define pornography, but I know it when I see it!"

OK - a post I do regret. After all, I am sure there are people here who are sitting in an easy chair with no mobility and an oxygen tank next to them. So if it offended anyone et al I humbly apologise and I would like to withdraw that post. I personally, and normally, have little time to come here; if others are different then fine if value is added.

I do not often frequent these pages yet I became engaged with the story and the lady JE who was maligned by some with little reason and exaggerated what was said.

There were some posts that I thought were over the top, yet I do not believe in any internet moderation; people can put their own case.

As I have said, I sincerely wish her well in floating that boat, but I stand by the "bitter and aggressive" view displayed by some as being unhelpful.

Would I ever complain about anyone? No! Its an open forum.

As the target, I can assure you that it didn't bother me in the least, so don't worry about it.

As I have said, I sincerely wish her well in floating that boat...

I think we all would. While I have seen a certain amount criticism expressed of Eleanor and of her past and current business projects, I haven't seen the slightest hint of ill wishing on any of the Elizmor threads.

Boy, are PBO going to shift a ton of the edition in which Eleanor's article appears.

But will there be anything to write about, will the ground be condemned as too soft, will a sinkhole open up and spontaneously launch Elzimor? So much to ponder.

Cant see theres much to write about, most of us could sum it up in less than 200 words.and at 100 quid a page it aint going to pay for the launch party let alone the crane.

Terrible quality locks they use on these locked threads. The door appears to be hanging open, and all manner of folk wandering in and out

If it had been my boat I would dread the thread being locked.....................................it would indicate to me that the project was doomed.................just a bad omen!!

Just thought i'd share this that turned up in our email box today as it's spookily relevant in the "Give me something, I do online media" vein, showing how some perceive the 'value' of their "online presence" regardless of the actual worth to those giving out the goodies - We get these sort of things fairly intermittently: (Names and company references removed)

I'm happy to run a competition alongside too, my <Company> competition (here) recently bought in almost 28k entrants. I can also offer YouTube video product reviews on request, see this one I did for <Name>.

I think a YouTube video would work really well with this kind of post. As previously mentioned, I'm able to get this post up in a quick turn around. I'm happy to mention the kayak again in future posts throughout the Summer.

Furthermore, I can place a branded logo on my sidebar homepage linking back to you.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

So......"I want to write about a kayak, give me one, and i'll tell everyone about it"

Thanks for the template Fishy, I have cut and pasted it and sent it off to Lamborghini - you can have the car for 50% of the time if you put a good word in for Lambo on your yachty website.
