Only trouble is i need a marine mechanic in Birmingham who doesn't charge the earth , because i cant get it engage forward or reverse, i had an impeller changed by a guy but i never checked it , i put it it on the water yesterday but could go anywhere 😡 please find someone to sort it out tia.

Did you watch the work done when the impeller was changed?

When refitting the lower leg (the gearbox lives in there), the gear shift mechanism probably wasn't engaged right.

DIY: Remove the lower leg again and put it on the right way. If the remote box lever was moved while the leg was off, that most likely is the problem.

Also: If you want more top speed remove the whale-tail from the motor.

And remember to flush your trailer brakes after submerging them and keep an eye on the wheel bearings.

PS! Your video camera man needs some basic training ;)

I didnt really watch them but phoned him and he’s acting like a bit of a tw?t saying he did it correctly and would of checked it before going but dont i know mate .

the reason i never did it was because last outboard had seized together and took 2 weeks to split gearbox off to do the impeller so didnt want to take that long again but this leg came off easy , i dont want touch it because i dont know what they’ve done .so i would rather someone else looks at it because the prop just free wheels by hand in forward neutral and reverse ?.

Guys been out but wont fix someone else's work , he said gearbox is in neutral and selector rods not connected he said get them back out to connect it , but they are away for 2 weeks

All sorted now mate dropped leg and gear linkage wasn’t connected 😡
