my first go in my new old boat

So I found my new boat in the northern spain region of baionna and went oiut for the first time today after getting here and it raining for the last 3 days, the weather finally broke for a couple of hours so got to have a little play and got a feel of my new toy.. so far I cannot get my radar signal to work comes up bp signal miss im wondering if there is problem with the signal or do I have to do something to get it to register or pick up the signal.. Other niggling problem is that all the rain we had last night, water leaked into the cockpit from the canopy straight onto the gps which now does not want to turn off and is flashing around and bleeping ten to a dozen has any one else experienced this kind of problem I would of thought that it should be able to withstand a few gallons of rain in sunny spain lol. so it looks like my list of jobs is growing as quickly as the black clouds that have gathered over the rias since i flew over. but I suppose thats what boatings all about any sugestions on these issues would be gratefull
