My alternator (on a Volvo Penta 145) has the following words on it: S.E.V. MARCHAL Marine Listed Alternator A 14/35 70228702 17 8 and also, 797E. Does anyone know anything baout this alternator? or, how I can get some information about the alternator - ie what amps is it producing and is there a 'company' who does them that I could talk to. Thanks all your bright 'sparks' for your help

SEV Marchal are french, according to the Seloc manual it shouldn't be SEV Marchal it should be Paris Rhone one which is 50Amps output with an integral regulator. THE SEV is external reglator and only 38Amps and not fitted to a 145A.
Any auto electric place can sort it out as they arvery generic.

Incidentally, SEV Marchal and Paris Rhone are marques (former companies) which belong to Valeo along with Ducellier and the former rotating machine business of Lucas.
