Mr Morris…..what happen about your leak?

If you're calling in at Portimao, go to Slickhull for your toilet problems. Talk with Vassille. Much much less than your quote of 400 euros. I know he's just ordered and received 2 for another client and even I was surprised at what he supplied them for.
We’ve got Portimao on our list of possibles so thank you for the tip.

We spent this morning finally (hopefully) sorting things out.
Firstly I thought it was 100% fresh water. Two days ago we emptied the cockpit locker (a major undertaking) to access the pressure pump and Calorifier and expansion vessel. We found two fresh water connections dripping. We double clipped them tightened them up and filled the water tank, replaced the freshwater pressure pump and monitored. No water in the bilge overnight so we thought we’d solved the problem.
We then had to motor most of the way from our previous port down to Porto. Unfortunately we then found a load of water in the engine bilge again.

This morning we looked at the stern gland and found that the collar of the PSS shaft seal had slipped. We then spent ages turning the boat upside down looking for the 1/8 imperial size Allen key that you need to undo the grub screws in the collar. It was eventually found and we moved the collar back to its correct place.. Hopefully the leak is now solved but we won’t know for sure until we’ve motored somewhere for a while.

in the meantime I’m sitting down to recover from the cost of chandlery in Portugal. I’ve got a suspected cracked main base part in the Jabsco compact toilet in the aft heads. As the whole thing is quite elderly (pre ‘twist n’ lock’) I thought I might just replace the whole thing.
Jabsco Compact manual toilet in the UK. About £155
Jabsco Compact manual toilet in Portugal £400
I might wait until Gibraltar…. They’re only £200 there.
