Mounting a Loudhailer on the mast?

I have a dedicated hailer/fog signal thingy, it sort of fell of one our fast rescue boats in Nigeria, so it was a freebee.
Did consider mounting a speaker, but considered that no matter where it was placed (except aft), it was liable to get fouled by something, and down aft is not where I want it.
Compromise is that I have a clamp fitted to the speaker, and if and when needed, the speaker is dragged forward and attached to the most convenient rail/stanchion, so its not a permanent fixture, and rigging it up only takes a few minutes

I also have a SH VHF with fog and loudhailer facility, and intend mounting the horn speaker under my radome, just above the spreaders - this should protect it from getting damaged by, or snagging, the foresail. It'll be just the thing to thank MoBo owners for their considerate attitude as they blast past, kicking up a big wake, as well as those who speed past our club mooring area in excess of the 6kt speed limit. The fog signals should also come in handy.
