I can see the enjoyment in toodling about the maneuvering etc,think of all the miles and countries to discover…….down side is the fuel

Yeah, we imagine ourselves retiring from ragging with a motor boat, but who knows if it will ever happen. Hopefully we can do another 15 years sailing.

Motorboats are not more expensive to run that sailing boats in my experience of both.

Motorboats use more fuel and engine servicing is a bit more, but no sails, no running rigging, no spars, no wind instruments, no standing rigging, no winches or blocks or rope jammers.

If with a motorboat you get to the end of the season you've spent a lot on fuel then you've had a good season and its been worthwhile.

Recently I've been spending more time on motor boats than yachts. Just as enjoyable.
