Is the problem warm cola ....While I cannot deny the link between a refrigerator and Coca Cola ….can we stay focused on my problems, gentlemen
Reminds me of the old American/Australian joke about British cars:Is the problem warm cola ....
No sympathy from me !
Result - keep that guys name/card. You might need to do it again in 2 or 3 years time.Ok…the technicien arrived on time…had the refrigerant and the gauges with him…half an hour later he was all finished and the fridge is cooling as we speak.
He didn’t add any valve…so the valve must already exist on the compressor…but for the life of me I cannot see it.
The compressor is separate…it can be accessed from a hatch under the pilots seat…it is mounted on a wooden base a few inches from the back of the fridgeResult - keep that guys name/card. You might need to do it again in 2 or 3 years time.
The port doesn't need to be on the compressor. Your system seems to be a split system where the compressor is remote from the fridge. Sailing yachts often have a "keel cooler" which is a "through hull" device to transfer heat into the seawater so split systems are very common.
A lot cheaper than a new fridge !Just paid….€200 ….you be the judge
The going rate in Sant Carles is about 80 eurosJust paid….€200 ….you be the judge
Even for boats owned by the English ?The going rate in Sant Carles is about 80 euros
I did just that but, as said earlier, you need to fit (or have) a Schrader valve port.I've always thought that a manifold set and a couple of cans of R134A are a good idea to carry in the spares chest. Going to do that this year.
Of courseEven for boats owned by the English ?
Coke drinkers need overcharging .Just paid….€200 ….you be the judge
I am so happy when you get a pro in and solves the problem, paying for the service hardly mattersI put the fridge on low…waited an hour…the compressor turned off…and it made ice
Success!
Are you implying you don’t approve of my DIY ?I am so happy when you get a pro in and solves the problem, paying for the service hardly matter
No it was a general observation from very own experience that calling in a pro to solve problems in May cases solves the problem at the same time avoiding creating more problems through not being a proAre you implying you don’t approve of my DIY ?
I was only teasing you......YouTube can make you an expert instantly....but an expert knows hidden risks you may not...plus, because it’s a boat, the usual contortions apply....and the osteopath’s bill can be larger than the mechanic’sNo it was a general observation from very own experience that calling in a pro to solve problems in May cases solves the problem at the same time avoiding creating more problems through not being a pro…..my father was to be blunt a bodger but he solved problems,in my cases I admit to being unskilled and call in a pro, almost always engine problems
