Motorbike underwear

Also ordered a pair.

Funnily enough a motorcycling friend of mine was waxing lyrical about these after having bought a pair a couple of weeks ago. By all accounts they are all the rage down at Box Hill on a winter's Sunday morning! :encouragement:

If they're that good I think he's charging a very reasonable price. He seems like a decent, down to earth bloke with a good product & not being greedy, very refreshing & hope he does well with it...

If you read the sidebar on the shop section of his website, he's retiring and once the stock has gone that's it - no more.

Can someone who has bought a set please advise on size. I am 36 waist and 42 chest in suit sizes yet I usually buy large in clothes that are sold M , L, XL etc yet I note on his page chest size 42 - 44 is M? I am about 5' 9" now having shrunk from 5' 10" in my younger days!

OK, mine came in this mornings post in a hand written parcel.
Tried it on and seems all ok. It is a "onesy" with a bottom zip openner as well as the top. It zips up to about your adams apple then a soft velcro'd flap covers comfortably over your adam's apple.
Size wise. It's certainly big enough. A bit baggy when standing up but that gets taken up when sitting down. Light and comfortable. I'm the same size near enough as "sailfree" post no. 11
Not tried it in anger but am going up to my boat in Arisaig (NW Highlands) for the first 2 weeks in March staying on board and getting boat ready for the season. Will report how it goes if anyone wants - will also be taking my thermal underwear just in case!

The videos seem to emphsise keeping a rider cool when wearing leathers on a hot day. It was stated in a video that the polyester layer under the cotton wicks the sweat. But most of the buyers on this thread seem to be buying to keep warm sailing in cold weather. I cannot find info that states the undergarment does this.
Have I missed something?

My two suits arrived today. Medium size.

I am 6ft, 41" chest, 13 stone (1.85m, 104cm , 89kg)

It fits exactly. I'm off to test the thermal insulating properties by going up to the shed, and chocking the boat and trailer level, prior to starting work on the deck hardware.

See what happens :)

OK; first impressions. One suit worn next to the skin, then shirt, sweater, heavy trousers.

Ambient temp 7C; no wind.

I set off from the big shed to boat shed (just over 1km) on the quad bike. Normally I would certainly have put on a winter jacket. The suit is not windproof on its own, so I was aware of feeling cold arms after 5 mins at 20 mph in open wind.

Got busy chainsawing big ash logs to act as supports for the trailer and boat. Also working the handpowered tractor jack to lift and level the trailer, wheels off ground. The job took about 80 minutes and involved a lot of bending and heaving at ground level.

I was aware of working up an honest sweat, but the inner cotton lining stayed smooth against skin, and whenever I stopped, e.g. to use the level, I was not aware of soggy clothes.

My verdict is that for wind blocking, nul points: for thermal insulating it's moderately good, and for sure more comfortable than my (old) Musto thermals. It does stop the accumulated sweat problem, and now, an hour after stopping the heavy work, I am comfortable and the suit is easy against the skin.

The finish on the suit is very good; no loose or frayed ends of fabric or stitching; the zip works well top and bottom, and I discovered there are three zipped pockets.

What's not to like very much for £25 ? :)
