The boat was apparently stolen. The guy was picked up ok by the coastguard I think.

a driving anchor (drogue) might have helped, do you have one?
I have one myself and I have once practiced how to tune it, albeit in comfortable conditions.
This video is Columbia bar US, luckily there are no bar problems here, how about you UK?

Boat is an Ocean Alexander 44 Cockpit MY. Yes reports are it was stolen. The guy apparently had a crazy afternoon. Possibly to much sniffing....
