I want to replace the reverse gear 33C cable, but I cannot remove it from the hanger. The clips on the hangers turn only counter-clockwise which doesn't make sense...( there is a stop at the edge of each clip stopping clockwise motion). I can't figure out how the cable was installed on the hanger nor how it can be removed...Is anyone familiar with this?? 337872357_130610429851102_4032224023248880065_n.jpg

looking at your photo you can see a small ‘pimple’ on the clip this is what keeps the clip closed, if you push the clip with the ‘pimple’ forward (away from the photo point of view) the clip should then be free to rotate clockwise as seen again from he photo point of view.

they may not seem to be able to move but that is how they work
you rotate them to remove the cable
disconnect the cable ends bot take photos first
your control is old and may not work as expected
be careful if you disconnect the throttle cable as it must go back as it is attached to function properly

Do you mean the clip should be pushed slightly down before it can turn right? ( looking at the new pic?) 337872357_130610429851102_4032224023248880065_n.jpg

Re #9 yes, push in direction of arrow down then clip should rotate in direction of arrow right, you may find the clip is tight from corrosion so WD40 or other easing oil may be needed.

That makes sense, I will try this today and come back with a photo of the underside of the clip If not able to progress, thanks.

You need to get the pip on her lever to go under the fork. Try putting a screwdriver between the lever and the fork and the lever should move with a gentle tap from a hammer.

Ok that worked! not pushing with the finger but gently with a screwdriver. Couldn't imagine that the lever could slightly flex so the pimple goes under the fork, thanks!
