An old friend of mine died yesterday, of in all places, the doctors surgery, heart attack, his wife phoned me to ask if I could keep my promise to John and sell his boat and boaty bits.

I don't usually put this type of announcement in the public domain, but I think OGaryO knew him during the time he kept his old boat at CAC.

We were three old men, Last of the summer wine types, John, who was alot like compo, Dougie-Truly, myself Clegg, I always told him, where there's a will, I want to be in it. I was only joking John, RIP.

Sad indeed.

It brings it home that we should try, as much as possible, to enjoy our time with those close to us.

Very sad news . R.I.P John

I agree, and it happened at a time when you're on a downer too. We all feel really sorry for you and John's family.

Every time you think of him, make sure you flash back to a time when you were all laughing together.

It will help in time, promise!

I do remember him David, gutted to hear of this and hope you're ok as you can be mate... one less character to take the piss out of those attempting to launch on the Calshot slip and one less kind soul to offer free and invaluable advice to them after the event. I was fortunate enough to receive both during my time on the spit :)
