MOL Treasure stuck in Southampton water.

Pilot left his AA Guide to S Coast of England back at the pub, or Something Nasty going off in one of the containers ?

Perfectly framed in the webcam. Couldn’t have run aground in a better spot. Well done!

At this time she’s only 67cm of water less than high tide. Quite an achievement.

Who said it’s run aground?

My flat overlooks this stretch of Southampton Water, and this incident started mid afternoon, when the ship was roughly off Weston, and was inside the main channel, and that’s when three tugs came to her assistance, and she was then towed to her present position, where two tugs from Fawley joined the other tugs. It appears the tugs are holding her just to the East of the main channel, which allows other shipping to pass in the main channel safely.

The window on the Red Jet was very salty, but I'm pretty sure the prop was turning.

Lomax was trying to pull her backwards, looked to be a lot of tension in the rope.

I suspect a steering failure.

She might be aground. Looks like 12 or 13 mtrs there, her summer draft is 16mtrs.

She’s just been turned by the four tugs, and she’s now headed very slowly back to Southampton, with the tugs pulling her.

I am let to believe it is a main engine failure related issue. Been quite the day for those involved today… there will be a significant backlog, i am very pleased my ship left yesterday evening!
