Most of the Yank engines will as they had tighter emmision contols quiet a few years ago. as most of the engines were based on GM or Ford blocks. In saying that wasnt the 4 pot the only purpose designed marine engine Mercruiser produced, but it would still have had to conform so you should be ok if in doubt mercury marine have quiet a good web site that will have the info at www.mercurymarine.com
