What is the most power you can put through a Alpha 1 Gen 2 leg (Petrol engine? I know that diesel requires a Bravo leg because of the torque.

What size cc are Mercury Big Blocks?

hi there

biggest engine I have seen with alpha 1 is the older 7.4 ltr(about 250HP I think) but bear in mind new engines are more Hp for smaller bore eg my current boat has a 5.7ltr but is MPI and is 300HP whereas my last boat was 5.7 EFI and was 260HP (both are B3 tho)

have a browse at this site

The alpha drive will only take a 350magnum (300hp) anything more and it eats itself.
Early to late 80`s the 7.4litre 454mag was running alphas then the Bravo came along with beefier gears and bearings that could take the torque.
Mercruiser engines are currently 3.0, 4.3L, 5.0, 5.7L, 6.2L, 8.1L, 9.2L, 9.4L, This are the super vee engines the bigger litre ones.
