Thanks for all the replies about marinas on the Mar Menor. We have now found space at Tomas Maestre Marine for about 4,500euros, a huge drop from the 12k we are paying in Alcudimar,Mallorca.Bye the bye, we saw 'Medreamer' in Alcudia last week and they are having a great time and not missing Windymere much at all'
So the trip to M.M. is to take place 10th Sept this year.
As this is our first long trip, are there any suggestions, routes, stopovers that you would recomend, and what amount of fuel do you think i will be using per mile?
We are a 14.20m x 14.60 trader type, with 2x 306hp volvos cruising at about 10knots.
Thanks for your help

Dont know how much fuel you can carry or your consumption but I would go across to Denia approx 70nm & then along the coast to Mar menor approx 70 nm, or you can cross over to Alicante approx 100nm. Ive plotted the Denia route but don't have the exact figures to hand. will be around the Mar Menor on the 24th of Sep myself, & will gladly pass on my knowedge of the local ports & waters if you require them. ..........good luck & enjoy your trip.......Nat

Not sure quite the route without a map but I spent 3 years in Alcudia and moved this year to St Eulalia in Ibiza and love it, well worth a stop over if it's vaguely on route.

Mallorca to Denia is in excess of 100miles and is a bit far north as a landfall. I would suggest Moraira as a landfall. 20miles further south and a more attractive stopover
If you want to break your journey, Botafoch or St Eulalia marinas in Ibiza are pleasant enough. I would definitely avoid the Club Nautico in Ibiza because the visitors moorings are not protected from wind or ferry wakes and the quay has protruding rocks under water. The old part of Ibiza Town is well worth a visit though
Also worthwile anchoring off Espalmador or west side of Formentera. Lovely anchorages with clear blue water
I would think your boat would do about 1.2 mpg @ 10knots
