Vous avez sur super marché de la jonquera le grand hyper un algeco ouvert de 10h à 14 h et de 16 h à 20 h prix 20 euros résultat immédiat

Whoops! My cut and paste translated back to French
Anyway, on the Spanish border (La Joquera) the hyper market does a Antigen test for €20 with immediate result and certificate. ( “certificate“ was added from another posting)

How we get ripped off!

Here done your leg work ;)

Entry to Italy from the UK
From 21 June to 30 July, on arrival in Italy travellers who have been in the UK in the previous 14 days must present a negative molecular or antigen test taken in the 48 hours preceding entry into Italy and fill in a digital localisation form. They must also self-isolate for 5 days, at the end of which they must take a rapid antigenic or molecular swab test for COVID-19 and test negative for release. In advance of the Euro2020 football match between England and Ukraine on Saturday 3 July, Italian border authorities have put in place additional checks to ensure observance of these requirements.
Everyone arriving in Italy must also call the COVID-19 helpline for the region you are travelling within 48 hours, to inform them of your visit.
Children under the age of 6 do not need to test or self-isolate. If you wish to fly, you must present the airline with a negative COVID-19 rapid antigenic or molecular swab test taken no more than 48 hours before travel.
Travellers arriving without a negative test will need to self-isolate for 10 days and undertake a test at the end of the isolation period.

Every Italian I spoke to down South laughed and suggested that only the British would be dumb enough to worry about 5 days of quarantine that will never be enforced!!!!! That’s not me speaking but pretty much the view of everyone at least down South. When I went to Italy no one checked any papers at either Rome airport or Naples airport. I was asked once if I had had a test and when I said yes they waved me on.

To be honest, I think we shouldn’t be looking for ways to flaunt the rules. Find the most convenient way for sure, but the rules weren’t made up for fun

Wouldn’t all this ^^^ have been done by the carrier before you boarded in the U.K?

Unfortunately, the comments above are consistent with my experience and I think reflect the general attitude of many people in the SoF, Italy, Spain, Greece, etc. The governments have announced health measures which are largely being ignored and enforcement by the authorities varies from light to non-existent as commercial pressures and the desire to attract domestic and foreign tourists during the summer months are taking priority. Although not widely reported in the media, case counts are rising in many tourist areas, although infections seem to be concentrated in the younger age groups and with the older population more highly vaccinated hospital admissions remain relatively low for the moment.

In France, they are desperately trying to avoid another lockdown and there is a race taking place between rising infections and vaccination. On Monday, Macron announced that from 1 August a health pass will be required to visit any public building or establishment capable of hosting more than 50 people ... so in practice most shops, restaurants, bars, etc. For most people, the only way to get the health pass is to be fully vaccinated ... this resulted in an additional 2.2m people registering for vaccination on Tuesday.

Returning from Palma this afternoon after a week on the Island. The Spanish health authorities at Palma airport where anything but relaxed as were customs. Passports stamped, duty free allowance checked. Friend who flew us with had vaccinations done in Dubai. EasyJet not keen to let him on the flight from Gatwick as no nhs confirmation. They relented after supervisor called. Seems some authorities won’t let you pass go unless all boxes ticked.

Do you have any evidence to support your claim that the general attitude to the virus is lax in SoF, Italy, Spain, Greece etc. I only ask as I’m in Spain at the moment, and needed either a negative pcr test or a vaccination certificate, along with a qr code, only given after completing an online health declaration, before even boarding the ferry. All documents were being closely checked. And almost all are still wearing masks outside, and most definitely everyone inside. It seems it is still being taken very seriously here. Unfortunately the same can’t be said about the younger unvaccinated, but that seems to be the same almost everywhere.
From what you say, seems Macron has got something right with 2.2m registering for a vaccination.

How do you get 40 or so 17 - 18 year old kids that have just tested positive on a flight from Barcelona to Brussels?
That happened last week and now the parents are facing large fines for endangering the other passengers. The Govt. in Belgium had organised a fleet of coaches to take the kids back from Barcelona but some parents decided that they wanted their kids home sooner and got them flights.

Quite easily, I suspect. Lots of close contact as kids of that age have always done. What surprises me is that the parents were happy to let them go in the first place.

Fake a - ve ?
Or was it really a - ve RAT , a few hrs later when home ( 24/48 ) then a + ve PCR ?
That’s the point re U.K. and somewhat Italian quarantine rules , they pick up false negative RAT s within the time period(s).

Any how Deltas running its course , the more unvaxed mix the faster it runs .

At the time of writing this post, we are waiting to be loaded onto the Pont Aven ferry back to Plymouth.
The Antigen (Lateral flow) tests that we had done locally in Sant Carles were accepted when we checked in.
Thanks Mike. We are in the process of booking the same tests for our return at the end of the month.
Have a good trip.

Are they under parental control ? I left home at 16 and my older brother left at 14.

That explains a lot:ROFLMAO:

And of course I don’t have the answer to your question, but Alicatt stated the parents organised their flights home, so perhaps my assumption is correct.
