Latest news from France is;
From tomorrow no masks outdoors except in queues and markets etc.
And from Sunday, no more curfew

Like the fact that I’m the NHS App, not the Covid one, you can get a QR code generated that shows your vaccine status. Just can’t wait for our flights on 9 July.

Great fun today, boat lifted at 12, bum washed, changed a dodgy 3/4 sea-cock whilst held in slings, relaunched and out in the lagoon by 3 for a quick sea-trial and all went perfectly well.

I did slip past Jenny Wren (Hurricane) whilst on the boatyard quayside, but Mike was busy stripping his Teak decking off his flybridge, so best not disturb him.....!

Weather has been great past few days, bit dull today, but great to be back on the water again....!

Hey, you could have stopped off and helped but I expect that gin and tonic was getting warm!!.
Actually, we are making quite good progress. Most of the old teak is now stripped off. Hopefully be back on the home berth tomorrow. Just SWMBO and I doing it so it is very rewarding to see this stage done.

Just for anyone who might be interested, this was the progress as at last night.
A Princess without seats and some of the floor is missing.

More progress today - nearly finished the teak removal but rain (and hail) have stopped play.

Told you not to go, it’s lovely back here☀☀☀:ROFLMAO:
Thats a lot of work, how long do you expect it to take? And any issues getting off the ferry in Santander?

This is me navigating my boat through a very narrow gorge today

Of course being able to boat throughout most of this pandemic has allowed me to increase my skills exponentially

I did almost come alongside JW when leaving the boatyard, but having changed a leaking sea-cock whilst in slings, had to take her out for a run to see if it leaked, it didn't, so opened the beer fridge when passing the fish beds and eventually followed the fishing boats back in, finished about 7pm reconnecting AC pipes to sea-cock and all worked well...!

Blue sky now, after hailstones earlier! You're doing a great job Mike, you must be utterly exhausted but the fun bit to come, it will look great once completed...!

That looks amazing, we used to visit gorge du Verdon a fair bit, what’s the maximum size boat you could get up there ?
I’ve seen them scull with about four rowers, there are pedalos and little electric boats. A jet boat would probably work but I don’t know if there is a speed limit. There might be a internal combustion engine ban, there often is on the rivers and lakes controlled by EDF. Where we were isn’t the main gorge, that starts from the big Lac St Croix. The gorge itself is spectacular, even the road trip is incredible, especially when all of the road is open. It’s so high you look down on the soaring eagles. I once saw a large helicopter fly into the gorge, it was like a bee in a bottle. I think it might be second to the Grand Canyon.

Ah yes
I‘m about 100km out
I don’t know that part of France at all, looks amazing.
I don’t think it’s that far (but am happy to be corrected). While it’s all interconnected, there are two lakes in between where I started and the big lake. But it’s all been dammed and tamed, so not all navigable. Reading the history of the early attempts at conquering the gorge, before the dams is very interesting. It was surprisingly late in history before anybody got through it. It was an incredibly wild river

I thought you had replaced everything last year or did you leave the Fly in the teak and so completing? Or are you replacing some of what you did last year?

Arrived Italy yesterday. Wasn’t asked even to show test result. Everyone relaxed here and seems perfectly calm. They are more focussed on the football than corona virus. Doing an overnight errand tomorrow down the the Aeolians and then a long one to Kefalonia. Solved the navigation problem - thanks @vas for your help. I found where the reactor/compass is - right next too the lower helm in the panels as you walk down the stairs. Disaster leaving any toolboxes under the helm seat which is what i usually do. Anyway needed a recalibration and on the sea trial we found a lose wire impacting the pilot so sorted that. Touch wood ll is ok now but these are boats after all!!

Hooligan:

Good weather here in SC this morning, so Mike and Mary are busy. JW now back on her berth.

Mike did parts of the boat last year, but not the FB, so not replacing, hence ripping up teak decks before laying new Vinyl - expect he will respond with more info/images later....
