Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Mike, please let us know how you get on , we’ll be doing the same trip a few weeks after you.
I've just had a phone call with ASm who has just arrived in Santander.
The biggest disappointment seems to be that the main silver service restaurant and the bar opposite are closed.
Apparently you can buy draught beer at the front on deck 7 as long as you buy food with it so people have been buying 4 pints and a bag of crisps.

Disembarkation was a bit lengthy as well.
Slow multiple queues of cars up to Passport Control where you were asked if you were resident - if not, your passport was stamped.
Then two lanes of further traffic 500m long feeding into one lane at customs where they seemed to pick cars out by registration.
So, long delays in customs, especially if you get picked out.
All in all from what ASm was saying, I think the departure delay could be between 1 and 3 hours.
ASm was on his way within that time.

As I say all this from a phone conversation so a bit second hand.
Maybe that helps some people making decisions.

Thanks Mike. Much as I expected, certainly on board they are required to stick to French laws/regulations. at least now the bars are actually open, which they weren’t in Oct/Nov last yea, although even then you could buy bottles of wine and beer and sit and drink it almost anywhere.
Hopefully the customs procedures will become a little slicker as time passes by.

Me again ?

The place is beginning to fill up, a boat comes in with a bikini clad girl handling the lines. You should have seen all the old yotties ! There was two men on each rope before I could lower my passerelle

You do know that carlsberg is what we drink when we are driving.

On the Pont Aven ATM. Silver service and bars are open. Almost back to normal. But no tonic for the gins!!!
We disembark at 13 45 so no experience of authorities in Spain yet.

In view of the government guideline
“You should not travel to red or amber list countries or territories.”
and Spain being on the amber list, did you have to give any explanation at the UK border to the necessity of your travel.
Have a safe trip.
A chap I know has a boat in Cala Dor - he said there were no issues at all leaving the UK or entering Spain. He's on his boat at the moment, got there two days ago.
