I still haven’t convinced the dog to get in the trailer???
Have I missed something? Has your dog become a basket case? Like your football team?

The trailer and e-scooter will live in the lazaret and be used to collect pizza. But as a secondary function I will be able to rescue the dog if he becomes lame on his walk. If I can teach him not to jump out ???Have I missed something? Has your dog become a basket case? Like your football team?
That’s just crazy ! Why would a healthy person eat pizza ??Jut as a completely off-the-wall, blue sky kind of thinking, could you not walk to collect the pizza and thereby exercise both yourself and the dog?
None of my business of course, but I do love a good thread drift (it'll be anchors next, I put money on it).
Currently - the rules are that they wont let you in unless you are spanish resident/citizen etc - see belowWe have decided now that we will be driving from the UK to Spain last week of May. Has anyone recently driven across the France/Spain border and if so did they have any issues convincing the Spanish to let you in? Airports appear to be out of the question now, no TIE no entry signs everywhere so driving seems like our best chance.
I'm interested in this one too.....seems very difficult to get 100% clarity on it. If we were still part of the EU there would be no issue with flying or driving-all very frustrating!!!!!Currently - the rules are that they wont let you in unless you are spanish resident/citizen etc - see below
Entry requirements - Spain travel advice - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
WHether that is actually enforced or not at the particular border you cross at is up for debate - but I would guess that if you did get in, you may be in danger of being in the country illegally? Generally speaking unless you meet the criteria above they probably wont let you in.
I suspect this may change by the time you intend to go, but who knows.
The gov.uk advice seems pretty clear to me....I'm interested in this one too.....seems very difficult to get 100% clarity on it. If we were still part of the EU there would be no issue with flying or driving-all very frustrating!!!!!
Am not talking about the gov advice - I am talking about the practicalities. Yes, it is certainly clear that the advice is not to travel at present-indeed illegal until at least the 17th May-fully understood. And yes, it is quite clear that Spain does not currently want/permit to let in UK nationals without a permitted reason - and that is clearly and easily enforceable at ports and airports. The bit I am not clear on is whether they are enforcing the same restrictions at the land border.....if you read further down in the same gov advice, it goes on to specifically state that a COVID test is also require at air and sea ports of entry (no mention of any other border)...so, that in itself suggests the road borders are perhaps treated differently! As you said earlier, time will tell and hopefully things will get sorted out.The gov.uk advice seems pretty clear to me....

Speak to the Spanish consulate and ask them if you want the definitive answer, but I'm pretty sure the UK gov details above are correct. The Spanish information reads differently to the UK Gov. The Spanish info suggests the restrictions (non-residents etc..) apply to arrival by sea or air. It talks about overland as having to just present a negative PCR. This is what makes me think that driving will be ok but the lack of clarity is worrying!
Which one will you use ?Am not talking about the gov advice - I am talking about the practicalities. Is this for the whole of Schengen or did you add the Spain bit in your summary. This is one report, if accurate, let’s hope it’s amended :-
Updated 30 April: As happened at the end of last month, the rules for temporary restrictions imposed on third-country nationals entering the EU/Schengen (which includes Spain) have again been extended a month. The rules are from last July’s order and are bullet pointed below. They have now been extended from 30 April to 31 May, and mean that entry to Spain – with a negative test and a passenger location form – is permitted only under one of the following conditions:
- returning home with evidence of registration or living here
- with a visa
- health professionals
- transporters
- diplomatic/military/humanitarian corps
- students for purposes of study
- essential/highly skilled workers
- imperative family reasons
- situation of force majeure or humanitarian necessity
France rumour to be confirmed they open up June 9 th ish .....can you wait a bit longer ?
From ‘updated April the 30th’ it was a simple cut and pasteIs this for the whole of Schengen or did you add the Spain bit in your summary.
