It might have had something also to do with the tax being paid in Ireland at Irish corporation tax rates....but the reality was the government wanted to make room for the budget arm of Air France to blossomIf I remember correctly the "squeeze " was because Ryanair breached French labour law in employing local people in France on Irish contracts, they went to appeal and lost. It was a thin end of the wedge if they had succeeded they would have done it wherever they employed local people. Shysters with despicable employment practices yet people still use and worship them.
