MD2B injectors maintenance?

Hello!
MD2B works nice and smooth so far. The manual says that every 100 hours the injectors should be unistalled and checked at the diesel shop. Is it possible that fuel have been improved since 1970 so injectors should not be checked so often??

If it's running fine, leave the injectors alone.

Definitely leave it alone, it will not improve anything unless you have a current problem, these engine are very reliable and low tech

If an injector needs work, it'll tell you - rough running, poor starting, smoke...

If the engine's starting well from cold and running sweetly, seems to me that you're well into "If it ain't broke" territory.

Good advice above.. leave well alone if its working ok. As CAPTAIN FANTASTIC says "these engine are very reliable and low tech".. I've had three of the MD series in boats over the years, and compared with their more modern counterparts I'd say I had far less trouble with the MD's. Apart from servicing, the only thing I remember doing with them was a de-coke, and changing an exhaust elbow..

think how often Plant machinery have injectors pulled for inspection
